On Saturday, the Quicksilver Group had the chance to get up close and personal with the most famous cruise liner of the 21st century, Queen Mary 2 (QM2).
The QM2 was launched by Cunard in 2003 and is the only purpose-built passenger ship in the world designed as an ocean liner, not as a cruise ship. A whopping 345m long and carrying a total of 3,948 individuals (2,695 passengers and 1,253 crew), the QM2 is used for cruising and does an annual world tour, circumnavigating the globe in 81 days. The Creme-de-la- crème tour package is their 99-night world cruise, covering 4 continents and 17 countries with rooms starting at $20,069 per person. This is a luxurious cruise like no other.
Great Adventures made the most of the rare opportunity to get up close to this iconic vessel, conducting a sightseeing tour for excited marine enthusiasts. Hopefully we don’t have to wait too long to be back in the presence of Royalty again!
